Campers and Guests of the Caccavale Family's Kayuta Lake Campground Collect their Bottles & Cans to Raise $1500.00 for The B.R.A.I.N. Foundation

Mike and Karin Caccavale of Kayuta Lake Campground sponsored a bottle and can collection event to benefit the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation. Throughout the entire 2010 camping season their campers donated their cans and bottles.

Mike and Karin Caccavale at Fund-o-MeterThe fun- and fundraising event took place on their beautiful Kayuta Lake Campground, one of the most popular campgrounds in Upstate New York, located at the foothills of the Adirondacks.

A total of 25,936 cans and bottles were collected and redeemed. When combined with monetary donations from a few of the campground's customers, Mike and Karin donated $1,500.00 to the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation.

While Roni could not be there in person, we know she was there in spirit and mind and we sincerely thank the Caccavale family and all who support this worthy cause for their kindness, time and generosity.

We would also like to thank the Nickel-Back Redemption Center in Boonville, NY for redeeming all those cans and bottles as well as their very generous monetary donation to the Foundation! Thank you to everyone.

Kearny High School Class of '79 30th Reunion Raises $5,562.00 For the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation!!!

On October 17, 2009, Kearny High School class of '79 held their 30th reunion at the Holiday Inn in Tinton Falls, NJ. Earlier this spring, reunion committee head Sue Fitzsimmons and committee member Lisa Stein had heard about Roni's plight and the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation and informed the rest of the committee of such.

Committee member Frankie Menth Nigro then suggested a fundraiser for the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation the night of the reunion. Through the hard work of Frankie (who spearheaded the fundraising effort), the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation received $5,562.00. Frankie would not have been as successful as she was if not for her husband, Gene's help as well as committee members Mary Rapsas and her husband, Dana, and Denise Viscuso and her husband, Rich.

Additionally, Sue Brito and Sue Fitzsimmons played a big part in creating the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation's display table. Finally, Kent Oldknow was kind enough to donate his winnings from the 50/50 raffle back to the foundation. All in all, the night was a huge success for our classmates managed to raise $5,562.00 for the B.R.A.I.N. Foundation.

We all wish that Roni could have been there that night to witness their success. But you know what? She was there in spirit and she was smiling at the fact as to how hard her classmates worked to put this fundraising effort together and in awe of their generosity.

Trading Competition: TOM DOES IT AGAIN!!!

Remarkably, Tom Woodmaska has once again won another RBS Greenwich Capital MVP Trader Challenge contest and has once again donated his entire $10,000 in winnings to The B.R.A.I.N. FOUNDATION!!! This makes it back to back years that Tom has won this extremely difficult trading competition.

How do you do it, Tom???!!!

The B.R.A.I.N. Foundation gratefully acknowledges and sends special thanks to Tom Woodmaska, who won 1st place in the RBS Greenwich Capital MVP Trader Challenge contest and donated his entire $10,000 in winnings to The B.R.A.I.N.
